Analysis of Digipaks
From this task i learnt about the uses of Digipaks. They offer an alternative to the classic Jewel cases and have advantages and disadvantages. They have a more unique look and feel as well as having a more eco friendly production. However they are less durable. I have found out that the pricing of a Digipak is around the same as a jewel case but because they are supposedly cheaper to produce, more profit can be made for the artist. These factors make the Digipak more of a secondary concept to the more popular jewel cases. From my research i believe that people will buy a normal plastic case most of the time because its familiar and more widely available. The advantages of eco friendliness do make them appealing but not essential.
My two interviews showed that these people do not own Digipaks. This doesn't necessarily mean that they are much less popular than jewel cases, but both types of cases are becoming less popular than online purchases and streaming.
Overall, I would definitely agree that this product is an alternative style to the classic plastic case. They are not as widely used as normal jewel cases but provide a unique alternative I would also agree that the target audience is teenagers because this product is not mainstream and teenagers are exited by alternative products. They definitely have a place and I can see them becoming more popular as becoming eco friendly is increasing popular as well. From my interviewing I cannot say that I found a large range of ideas representing all ages as we only interviewed two teenagers. My understanding is that digipaks would be bought for collections as they are often limited editions so an older demographic would be inclined to buy one for collecting and because they would be able to afford it more easily.

Analysis of Music Websites
From this task I learnt a lot about how a music website is presented and how important they are in promoting the artist. This task has given me a good insight into the codes and conventions used on a typical website. Before this research I had never been on a music website so I discovered that the best way to find out about an artist going on tour is on the website. Key information about each artist is easily found in the website whereas on a music video on YouTube it may be hard. A music website is also great for showing the target audience of a website. A music video can often only display the message of a single song and not the artists overall opinions and audience. The website shows clearly what the artist message is. For example Jessy Js website conveys a rebellious nature rather than a typically brightly coloured mainstream pop artists website which can represent joy.

Lip Sync Practice
We chose Stronger as a first song to use because it gave us practice In lip singing a rap. We thought that a fast pace song would improve our skills for the music video we are creating which may well include a rap element or verse.
lip sync
This task let our group try out making music video for the first time, We were quite effective in editing our video to match the songs behind because iMovie allowed us to cut minor sections from both the songs and our clips.
The final video using Justin Timberlake's song shows how much we've learnt about lip syncing. Our mouths are extremely expressive which makes for a much more convincing lip sync than in practise. We also filmed for the second time as if this was a proper music video. We learnt about how to mix the singing with narrative as any regular mainstream video would do for a final production. Just like Justin timberlakes music video we filmed dancing sequences to fill in the video where we didn't lip sync. This extra film makes for a much smoother video and expresses the joy of the song much more than just lip syncing does. We also filmed a few shots on the field as the bright colours of the grass work in synergy with the fast pace lip syncing. I took quite a while with editing this video because I wanted most of the cuts to be on the beat of the song. This is why there is a large amount of cuts within the short space of 21 seconds as I wanted the video to be as fast as the songs beat itself.

History Of Music Videos
From this task i learnt about the way music videos were born and how they evolved over the last half century. I now know that before the 1960s music videos were almost exclusively performance based and this never added much to the message of the song. I've learnt about how the plot line in a music video developed along with the creativity of new musical directors. One of the most famous videos Thriller directed by John Landis showed the enormity that music videos were becoming as this director had made many famous films such as Beverly Hills Cop 3. I also now know that the first place music videos were able to reach a mainstream audience was on MTV in 1981. Many videos were aired there for the first time to reach large television audience. Television was becoming a proliferating form of media so consumption on music videos became high very quickly. The success and popularity of the music video has also been down to the high budgets given to certain directors. Scream by Michael and Janet Jackson was given a 10.7 million dollar budget amplifying its success.
